Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bradley Trooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Smith!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trooper tries to clinch up
and Smith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Trooper thinking.
Trooper takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Trooper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Trooper moves to clinch but Smith breaks away

and Smith counters by clinching up.
Smith is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Trooper pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Smith slowing the pace effectively.
Smith is looking for a takedown.
Bradley Trooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Smith.
Trooper lands an elbow that stopped Smith in his tracks for a moment.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith jumps guard but Trooper stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Smith is leaning against Trooper and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Trooper is breathing heavily.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Smith gets the takedown into side control.
Smith remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Trooper is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Smith asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Smith shoots for a takedown but Trooper saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Trooper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Trooper didn't expect that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Smith stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Trooper to get to his feet.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Trooper is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Trooper circles away and we're back to standing.

Smith darts in and clinches Trooper up against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Smith is working for takedown but Trooper is calmly controlling the position for now.

That's time! Trooper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smith changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Trooper fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Trooper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Trooper buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Trooper throws a low kick but it's checked well by Smith.
Trooper wants to slow Smith down by chopping away at his legs.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Trooper sprawls well. Trooper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Trooper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Trooper sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Trooper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Smith can pounce on him.

so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Trooper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Trooper tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smith is in Trooper's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bradley Trooper.
Smith darts in looking for a takedown but Trooper gets double underhooks and turns Smith into the cage.
Trooper misses with an elbow strike.
Trooper tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Smith avoids it.

Smith gets control of Trooper's arms and successfully pulls guard. Smith will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Smith lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Trooper wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Trooper is working an open guard so Smith takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Smith darts in looking for a takedown but Trooper gets double underhooks and turns Smith into the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Smith.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Trooper using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Smith has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The referee is keeping an eye on Smith - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Bradley Trooper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aaron Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
