The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koretanov pushes Partanen up against the cage in a clinch.

Koretanov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Koretanov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Partanen sprawls well initially but Koretanov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Nice strikes from Koretanov there.
Koretanov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Koretanov is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Partanen wants to sweep here but Koretanov controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Partanen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Koretanov postures up in Partanen's guard and throws a big left but Partanen blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Partanen looking for a guillotine here but Koretanov defends easily.

Koretanov stands and steps away. Partanen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

It looks like Marko Partanen has been cut.

We've been hearing good reports from Koretanov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Koretanov cracks Partanen with a solid left hand.
Koretanov gets to his feet and stands over Partanen, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Partanen felt that one! Koretanov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Partanen from any more punishment!
