Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross McDouglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross McDouglas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McDouglas as he jumps to the side.
McDouglas throws a lazy head kick

and West counters with a shoot takedown. McDouglas fights it but they end up in guard.
West's corner is telling him to maintain position.
West distracts McDouglas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
West cracks McDouglas with a solid left hand.
McDouglas wants to get back to his feet but West is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
West has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

West seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McDouglas for as long as he can get away with.

McDouglas tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, McDouglas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Pablo West has been cut.

West turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and West manages to end up in side control.
McDouglas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with West. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

West's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
