The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jane scores with a jab.
Jane throws the left hand but Abbott avoids the punch easily.
Jane throws a poor cross that misses

and Abbott counters with a shoot takedown. Jane fights it but they end up in guard.
Jane is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jane wants to stand up but Abbott has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Abbott is trying to control but can't.

Jane stands up and beckons Abbott to join him on the feet.
Abbott has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Patrick Jane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Abbott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jane fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Abbott.
Jane is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Abbott connects with a leg kick. Jane looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Some bone on bone action there as Jane checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
The fighters circling - Abbott throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
