PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jed Masilungan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masilungan comes to the cage accompanied by Return to Strength. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gomi's choice of entrance music: Slaap lekker!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masilungan catches Gomi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Gomi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Masilungan wants to land a leg kick but Gomi is out of range.

Masilungan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gomi sprawls well initially but Masilungan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Masilungan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gomi holds on and takes a little breather.
