Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Renato Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trent Boyette!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Boyette, pushing him back against the cage.
Boyette trying to control the position but instead, Santos has worked for underhooks and has pushed Boyette into the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Santos.
Santos lands a right hand that snaps the head of Boyette backwards.

Boyette pulls guard effortlessly.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Santos postures up in Boyette's guard and throws a big left but Boyette blocks it.
Santos postures up and lands a big shot to Boyette's brow.
Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Santos makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Santos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boyette dives on top into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boyette's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Santos is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boyette dives on top into guard.
Santos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boyette defends well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boyette doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boyette manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Santos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boyette's guard.

Boyette is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Santos stands up over Boyette, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Santos drops back looking for a leg! Boyette is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boyette manages to kick Santos off! Santos jumps back into Boyette's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santos won't allow Boyette to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santos drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Santos as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Boyette screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Santos! Nice submission victory there!
