Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kid Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kid Faber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tomasz Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Faber lands a head kick. Kowalski smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Kowalski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Faber tries to kick Kowalski off but Kowalski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kowalski is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Kowalski stands up and beckons Faber to join him on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kowalski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Faber looks to clinch

and Kowalski counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Kowalski breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kowalski.
Faber wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Kowalski content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
I looks like Kowalski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kowalski stands up.
Kowalski misses with a double jab.
Kowalski shoots in and drives through. Faber sprawls well.

Faber rushes Kowalski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Faber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kowalski closes the distance and clinches up with Faber, looking for a takedown. Kowalski pushes Faber against the cage but Faber circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kid Faber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Kowalski.
Faber wants to clinch

and Kowalski counters with a shoot takedown. Faber fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kowalski looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kowalski trying to control but Faber is working from the bottom.
Faber preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Faber can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kowalski controls the pace.

Faber pushes Kowalski off and gets back to his feet.
Faber tries to clinch

and Kowalski counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kowalski works his way into full mount!
Kowalski sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Faber is in a horrible position here. Kowalski smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tomasz Kowalski dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kowalski shoots for a double leg takedown but Faber sprawls well. He's pushed Kowalski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kowalski tries to bum rush Faber with a series of wild strikes but Faber uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Faber closes the distance but Kowalski moves to the side

and Kowalski counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kowalski trying to control but Faber is working from the bottom.
Kowalski sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Faber manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Faber moves out of range as Kowalski strikes.

Kowalski closes the distance and clinches.

Faber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kowalski blocks a head kick by Faber.

Kowalski instigates a clinch.
Kowalski misses with the head strike.
Kowalski is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Faber stalling in the clinch but Kowalski improves position.
Kowalski looking for a takedown.

Faber escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Faber clinches up with Kowalski and pushes him back against the cage.

Kowalski jumps guard and drags Faber to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kowalski is trying to control the position but Faber postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Faber tries to stand but Kowalski is controlling from the bottom.

Kowalski is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Faber frees his head nicely. Oh but Kowalski has switched to an armbar! Faber is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Tomasz Kowalski!
