The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winchester misses with a body punch
and Tree makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tree closes the distance and pushes Winchester back into the cage.

Tree has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Winchester is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Winchester tries to land knees in the clinch but Tree avoids the damage to the body.

Sam Winchester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Winchester looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tree is fending him off so far but Winchester persists. Nope, Tree circles away and we're back to standing.
Tree shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Winchester but Winchester pushes him off and we're back to square one.

You can see the frustration on Winchester's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Tree wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Winchester, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tree tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tree has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Winchester wants to control but Tree postures up.

Tree wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Winchester, who protects the arm well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Winchester struggling a bit here.
Tree has hold of Winchester's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Winchester seems comfortable defending it but Tree has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Winchester is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Winchester is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Tree couldn't care less - he's delighted!
