PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Schroeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jouni Juoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Schroeder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jouni Juoni!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juoni throws a head kick but Schroeder moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Schroeder.
Schroeder takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Juoni misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schroeder throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Juoni throws a sloppy head kick and Schroeder moves out of range easily.
Juoni blocks a leg kick.
Juoni throws a head kick that half lands.
Juoni tries a head kick but it misses.
Juoni avoids the head kick by Schroeder.
Juoni blocks a head kick by Schroeder.
Schroeder goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schroeder takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Juoni throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Juoni checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Schroeder bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Schroeder throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Juoni struggling a bit here.
Schroeder creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Juoni sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Schroeder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Juoni trying his best to control but Schroeder has mounted him.
Schroeder fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Schroeder throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Juoni because Schroeder loaded up on that one.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schroeder jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Juoni manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Juoni is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Schroeder thows a huge punch but Juoni dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Juoni is defending against the submission attempts here by Schroeder.
Juoni on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Schroeder is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Juoni doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schroeder.
Schroeder is breathing heavily.
Schroeder throws a strike but Juoni avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Juoni is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Schroeder frees his head nicely. Oh but Juoni has switched to an armbar! Schroeder is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
