Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junji Kodama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kodama comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Of Wolf and Man - Metallica kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Junji Kodama!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a right and a left that Kodama avoids nicely.
Kodama thows a body shot but no joy.
A left and a right from King both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Junji Kodama has been cut.
King looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kodama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kodama misses with a body punch
and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kodama tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've been told by King's head coaches at ELITE GYM 40CAP that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

King goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kodama has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

King connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kodama momentarily.

and King counters with a three punch combo that has Kodama backing up. Kodama nods at King to acknowledge the strikes.

Kodama fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kodama circles away quickly and effectively.

King is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kodama will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Don King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junji Kodama.

King's corner calls for a 1-2. King obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
King throws a right hand that Kodama ducks under and follows up with a left that Kodama also avoids with ease.
King throws a series of punches but Kodama moves out of range.
King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kodama circles away quickly and effectively.
King looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kodama slips a jab and a cross from King.

Kodama fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging King to the ground. Kodama is now in King's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kodama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as King checks a leg kick.

Kodama moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Kodama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. King looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
King is looking for a sweep.

Kodama looking to punish the body of his opponent here but King is avoiding damage well.
King is looking to regain half guard here but Kodama keeps moving and retains side control.
Kodama lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Kodama works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
King tries to buck Kodama off but Kodama is having none of it.

Kodama looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

King had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kodama defends it easily.

King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kodama throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kodama has a takedown stuffed.
Kodama throws a low kick but King moves out of range easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
King scores with a hook to the body. Kodama takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Don King will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Kodama shoots in looking for a takedown. King tries to sprawl out of it but Kodama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. King manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice combination there by King.

King feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kodamas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by King!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Junji Kodama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kodama misses with a takedown attempt - King sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kodama can do to turn this around?

Kodama changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. King tries to avoid it but Kodama manages to keep hold of a leg and drag King to the ground. King escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

King lands with an uppercut that bounces Kodama off the cage and back into range.

Kodama fakes a jab and throws a low kick but King checks it well.
King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
King scores with a hook.

King connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kodama. Kodama circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
King thuds a left hand into Kodama's body.
A punch lands to the side of Kodama 's head but he takes it in his stride.

King lands an uppercut, right on the button! Kodama tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
