The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Swanson breaks from the clinch.
Karneres swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Karneres lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Swanson misses with a double jab.
Karneres ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Swanson moves away.
Julius Karneres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Swanson clinches up with Karneres and pushes him back against the cage.
Swanson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Karneres avoids it.
Karneres's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Karneres cracks Swanson with an open hand slap.

Karneres throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Swanson. Karneres does a little dance to reset his feet.
Karneres tries to close the distance and clinch but Swanson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Swanson. Those never looked like landing.
Good standup being displayed there by Karneres as he connects with a hook.
Karneres blocks a jab.
Swanson forces Karneres back against the cage and clinches.

Swanson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Karneres prevents it.
Nice body punch from Karneres - that landed with a thud.
Swanson dodges an elbow strike from Karneres.
Karneres misses with a body punch.
Swanson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Karneres pulls his leg out and moves away.
Swanson closes the distance and clinches.

Karneres escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Swanson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Karneres scores with a body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Karneres pushes off an throws an elbow but Swanson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Karneres breaks from the clinch.
Swanson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Karneres connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Swanson scrambles back to his feet.
Karneres misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Karneres!
and Karneres counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Swanson! He's just covering up as Karneres starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
