PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timothy Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean McNamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee comes to the cage accompanied by McGee. McNamara is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Massive Attack - Teardrop (House M.D.). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean McNamara!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from McNamara. Those never looked like landing.
Mcgee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mcgee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McNamara, pushing him back against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Mcgee.
McNamara is working for takedown but Mcgee is calmly controlling the position for now.
McNamara tries to score a body lock takedown but Mcgee shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
McNamara tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mcgee just stands there and leans against the cage.
Timothy Mcgee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean McNamara.
McNamara tries to pull guard but Mcgee holds him up against the cage and eventually McNamara drops back down to his feet.
McNamara gets underhooks to prevent Mcgee's takedown attempt.

Mcgee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McNamara keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No luck for McNamara with that takedown attempt.
McNamara misses with the combination.

McNamara manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcgee on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcgee's guard now, I'm sure.
My spies in Main Event Gym inform me that McNamara has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
McNamara must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mcgee working for a triangle but McNamara defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mcgee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McNamara is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McNamara is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Mcgee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sean McNamara hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A momentary lapse in concentration from McNamara enables Mcgee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McNamara manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
McNamara utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mcgee is in close to McNamara's body, working some short punches and elbows.
McNamara tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mcgee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McNamara is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mcgee presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Mcgee has picked McNamara up - he's going for a ride! Mcgee dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McNamara wants to get back to his feet.
McNamara preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Mcgee maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! McNamara could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mcgee has cracked it and McNamara is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mcgee!
