PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Baccon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hells Bells. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bubba Baccon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stan Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk scores with a nice head shot.

Sherk gets a clinch.

Baccon breaks the clinch.

Baccon pushes Sherk up against the cage in a clinch.

Baccon tightens his grip and picks Sherk up, before dumping him to the ground. Sherk manages to land in guard.

Baccon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Baccon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Baccon really is a fat lump.
Baccon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Baccon stands up and waves to Sherk to follow him.

Sherk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Baccon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sherk napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Baccon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sherk to his feet.
Sherk wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Baccon moves into the clinch.
Baccon wants a takedown but no success here.
Sherk lands a left hand that snaps the head of Baccon backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sherk lands a hook that snaps the head of Baccon backwards.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Baccon.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bubba Baccon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sherk misses with a double jab.
Baccon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Baccon is breathing heavily.

Baccon drives through and clinches with Sherk against the cage.
Sherk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sherk lands a left hand that snaps the head of Baccon backwards.
Baccon fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sherk lands a body punch.
Baccon working hard to break the clinch.
Sherk misses with an elbow strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sherk rushes Baccon and presses him up against the cage.
Baccon can't get the takedown.
Baccon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sherk smiles and moves away.
A left and a right from Sherk both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Bubba Baccon has been cut.

Sherk forces Baccon back against the cage and clinches.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oooooh!!! Sherk has knocked Baccon down with a huge combo! Sherk steps away and waves a wobbly Baccon back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Baccon is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sherk throws a quick inside leg kick.
Oh Baccon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sherk moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sherk connects with a superb combination that knocks Baccon out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Sherk before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Baccon!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Stan Sherk!
After winning the bout, Stan Sherk thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
