Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Perttu Peikkola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Jones!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Peikkola rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Peikkola gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Peikkola misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jones.
Peikkola using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jones has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Peikkola breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peikkola tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peikkola to the ground. Peikkola escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Perttu Peikkola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Jones.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Peikkola.
Peikkola has managed to clinch.
Peikkola with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Peikkola scores a nice knee to the body.
Peikkola has Jones pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Peikkola pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jones tumbling to the mat - Peikkola dives into Jones's guard.
Peikkola throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones won't allow Peikkola to sweep him here.
Jones stands and throws Peikkola's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Peikkola is looking for a sweep.
Peikkola manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jones tries to get to full guard but Peikkola has control of the leg.
Peikkola is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peikkola is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peikkola throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Peikkola seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jones is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
