Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cranky Mark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leon Lance!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Lance. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lance.


It looks like Cranky Mark has been cut.

Mark decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mark trying to advance position but Lance counters by regaining guard.
Mark not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mark's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mark stopping the sweep attempt from Lance.
Lance is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mark trying to control but Lance is working from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lance working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mark.
Our spies down at at Elite Fighting Temple inform us that Lance has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Mark passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mark is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Lance is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mark's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mark's back!
Mark wants to escape the position.

Lance is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mark defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Mark breaks Lance's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Lance tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lance is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lance wants to sweep but no luck.
Mark sitting in guard here, content to control.
Lance looking for a sweep. Not yet Lance, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mark stays in close to Lance's body and controls the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mark feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mark trying to control but Lance is working from the bottom.
Mark passes into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lance tries to roll over but Mark keeps him under control.
Mark throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mark has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mark performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lance trying to control but Mark postures up.
Lance is trying to control but Mark manages to pass to mount!
Mark content just to control the position here.
Mark lands a couple of good shots and Lance has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Mark is working for a rear naked choke. Lance is not defending it well and Mark has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Lance refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Lance's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Cranky Mark!
During a confident post fight interview, Cranky Mark thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
