Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between jin san (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Kalashnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

san scores with a takedown into Kalashnikov's guard.
Kalashnikov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kalashnikov has a closed guard, preventing san from standing up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kalashnikov looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! san has picked Kalashnikov up and slammed him! Kalashnikov can't keep hold of the triangle and san manages to pass to side control!
Kalashnikov gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
san seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kalashnikov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

san is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kalashnikov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
san is refusing to be controlled, as Kalashnikov sits in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I looks like Kalashnikov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

san is looking for a sweep. Kalashnikov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kalashnikov wants to control but san is keeping him busy.

san tries to kick Kalashnikov off but Kalashnikov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
san tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

san shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. san showed some decent athleticism there.
Kalashnikov is looking to control san's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kalashnikov avoid being mounted?

Kalashnikov is trying to keep san in close.
san wants to stand and escape but instead Kalashnikov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
san is breathing heavily.
Kalashnikov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

san is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
san really is a fat lump.
san wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kalashnikov content to stall in guard here.
san looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kalashnikov is one step ahead there.

Kalashnikov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

A close round but Roman Kalashnikov will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kalashnikov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

san looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kalashnikov keeping control of the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Roman Kalashnikov just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

san drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kalashnikov regains half guard.
Kalashnikov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of san's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take san's back!

Kalashnikov is working for a rear naked choke. san is not defending it well and Kalashnikov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! san refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of san's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
