PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Blair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Hamilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Blair might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Six . On his way into the cage it seems that Robbie Blair has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Robbie Blair seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robbie Blair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cameron Hamilton!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamilton tries to clinch up.
Hamilton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blair tries to avoid it but Hamilton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blair to the ground. Blair escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Hamilton or perhaps it was just good defense by Blair which made him look bad.
Hamilton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Robbie Blair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cameron Hamilton.

Hamilton drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hamilton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blair swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hamilton prevents Blair from getting back to his feet.
Blair looking for a sweep. Not yet Blair, not yet.
Blair bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hamilton's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blair trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hamilton's guard.
Blair slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hamilton looking for a sweep. Not yet Hamilton, not yet.
Hamilton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Blair!
Hamilton wants to take his opponent's back but Blair doesn't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Blair is looking to improve his position but Hamilton isn't that keen on the idea.
Poor strikes thrown by Hamilton there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Blair keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Hamilton trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Hamilton get's back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Blair. No joy for Hamilton on that attempt.
Hamilton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blair pinned against the cage. Blair gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Blair changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hamilton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blair lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hamilton down.
Hamilton is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Blair is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Blair controlling the position easily from mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hamilton can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Robbie Blair will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Blair tries for a takedown but Hamilton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Blair counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hamilton won't be happy with that.
Hamilton tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Blair staying calm.
Blair has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hamilton is looking for a sweep.
Blair trying to control the action but Hamilton is working from the bottom.
Blair looking to control but instead Hamilton has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Hamilton works his way to full guard. Good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blair won't allow Hamilton to get back to his feet.
Blair pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hamilton is keeping the position for now.
Blair knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hamilton on the ground.
Blair trying to control the position from guard on top but Hamilton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hamilton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Blair wants to stand but Hamilton is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hamilton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hamilton pushes Blair off and scrambles back to his feet.

Hamilton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cameron Hamilton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Blair closes the distance and clinches up with Hamilton, looking for a takedown. Blair pushes Hamilton against the cage but Hamilton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hamilton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Blair's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hamilton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blair is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Blair is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hamilton off and has taken his back!

Hamilton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Blair prevents Hamilton from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Blair stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hamilton with a poor takedown

and Blair counters with a shoot takedown. Hamilton fights it but they end up in guard.

Blair throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Blair has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Blair slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hamilton sneaks back into half guard.
Blair tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hamilton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hamilton is trying to get back to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Blair is just content to waste time from the top position. Hamilton takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Hamilton has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Blair doesn't defend quickly enough and Hamilton has managed to lock this one up! Can Blair escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hamilton on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Cameron Hamilton!
