Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Deflatter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Guss Steel!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deflatter misses with a left hand
and Steel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Jimmy Deflatter has been cut.
Deflatter slips a jab from Steel.

Steel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Steel showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Deflatter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steel pulls his head out easily.
Steel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deflatter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Deflatter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Steel is working for a kimura but Deflatter is defending it quite comfortably.

Deflatter blocking the ground and pound attempt from Steel.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Steel connects with a nice short shot to Deflatter's temple.

Deflatter looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Steel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steel scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Steel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Steel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Steel passes to full mount!

Deflatter is bucking up trying to escape but Steel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Deflatter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Deflatter really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Steel putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Steel is in the full mount, landing strikes.


Deflatter is rocked!


Jimmy Deflatter's cut is getting worse.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jimmy Deflatter's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
