Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clay Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elvis Barbaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elvis Barbaro will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clay Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elvis Barbaro!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barbaro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hurst was covering up waiting for the punch and Barbaro finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hurst wants to sweep here but Barbaro controlling him for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hurst is on top in guard.
Barbaro is pulling down on Hurst's head to control his posture.

Hurst decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hurst keeps the fight on the outside.
Hurst tries to close the distance and clinch but Barbaro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hurst is trying to control the position but Barbaro postures up.

Hurst throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hurst throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Barbaro trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurst is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hurst has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hurst manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barbaro manages to get himself to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barbaro can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hurst wants to control from the top but Barbaro keeps moving.
Barbaro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Barbaro has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Barbaro wants to clinch up but Hurst keeps it at a distance.

Hurst wants to control but Barbaro is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hurst might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hurst is trying to keep Barbaro in close.

We're going to have a standup here because Clay Hurst wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Barbaro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Barbaro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Barbaro buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Barbaro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hurst wants to control but Barbaro is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hurst works his way to full guard. Good work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hurst looking for a guillotine here but Barbaro defends easily.

Barbaro is sitting in close to Hurst's body. Hurst has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Barbaro is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Barbaro is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hurst.
