Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Enzo Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Kastelum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Enzo Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Calvin Kastelum!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Darius Henderson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kastelum circles away from the clinch attempt.
Perez tries to clinch up but Kastelum circles away and keeps his distance.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kastelum has eaten all the pies!
Kastelum walks forward, straight into a front kick from Perez.

Kastelum manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Perez on his heels. He'll look to pass Perez's guard now, I'm sure.
Perez is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Perez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kastelum on the ground.
Perez wants to stand and escape but Kastelum is having none of it.
Kastelum passes Perez's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Kastelum escapes and gets back to his feet.
Kastelum shoots in but Perez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Perez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Perez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kastelum's waist but Kastelum gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perez off to one side.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Perez!
Kastelum shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perez as he avoids it easily.

Perez clinches up against the cage.
Kastelum trying to stall but Perez improves his position.
Kastelum creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Perez manages to break the clinch.
Kastelum looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Enzo Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calvin Kastelum.

Kastelum is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Perez's half guard.
Perez is looking to improve his position.
Perez is working hard here to advance position.

Perez wants to sweep but Kastelum has passed to side control!
Perez is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kastelum moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Kastelum decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Perez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Perez shoots in for a double leg but Kastelum sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kastelum shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Perez as he jumps to the side.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kastelum darts in looking for a takedown but Perez gets double underhooks and turns Kastelum into the cage.
Perez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Perez can't get the takedown.

Perez breaks from the clinch.
Kastelum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Perez defends well and Kastelum ends up having to push Perez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Perez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kastelum is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Perez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kastelum is defending well for now.
Perez is working for takedown but Kastelum is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kastelum tries a body shot but Perez blocks it.
Kastelum is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Perez pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Perez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kastelum smiles and moves away.
Kastelum slaps away a takedown attempt from Perez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kastelum closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Perez quickly recovers to half guard.

Kastelum stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Perez to get to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice takedown defense from Perez. No joy for Kastelum on that attempt.

Kastelum dives in and scores a takedown into Perez's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calvin Kastelum dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kastelum shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Perez sprawls well. Perez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kastelum gets slowly back to his feet.
Perez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Perez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kastelum is fending him off so far but Perez persists. Nope, Kastelum circles away and we're back to standing.
Perez tries to close the distance and clinch but Kastelum swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Perez connects with a right hand. Kastelum shakes it off.

Kastelum shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kastelum controlling the action here.

Kastelum seems to be working for a kimura but Perez defends the submission attempt.
Perez is in trouble now - Kastelum has advanced to mount!

Kastelum stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Perez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kastelum is fending him off so far but Perez persists. Nope, Kastelum circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Perez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kastelum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perez somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enzo Perez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kastelum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perez tries to avoid it but Kastelum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perez to the ground. Perez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perez fails with a takedown attempt.

Kastelum changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kastelum has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kastelum stands up and beckons Perez to join him on the feet.

Perez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kastelum pinned against the cage. Kastelum gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kastelum drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kastelum jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kastelum stands and steps away. Perez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kastelum but Kastelum pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kastelum is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Perez's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calvin Kastelum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Perez gets caught flat footed, as Kastelum shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Kastelum slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Kastelum gets to his feet. Perez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Perez jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Perez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Perez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kastelum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perez somewhat.
Perez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kastelum manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kastelum shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kastelum is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Kastelum stands up and beckons Perez to join him on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kastelum is defended easily by Perez.

Kastelum closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Perez quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Kastelum seems content to control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kastelum wants to work for an arm triangle but Perez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kastelum content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kastelum tries to pass to full mount but Perez defends it.

Kastelum stops Perez from getting back to his feet.

Kastelum maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Perez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kastelum has cracked it and Perez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kastelum!
