Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Qadir Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rodrigo Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Qadir Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson has managed to clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Diaz.
Diaz wants to take the fight to the mat but Ferguson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Diaz is trying to drag Ferguson to the mat but Ferguson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Diaz is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ferguson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A close round but Qadir Ferguson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferguson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Ferguson's legs - danger averted.

Ferguson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diaz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Qadir Ferguson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rodrigo Diaz.
I think Ferguson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
