Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Justin Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Amsterdam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Law comes to the cage accompanied by live to win. Justin Law has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Justin Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Amsterdam!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Law.
Amsterdam has his takedown stuffed
and Law counters with a thumping low kick.
Law bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Law shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Amsterdam pinned against the cage. Amsterdam gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Law throws a sloppy head kick and Amsterdam moves out of range easily.
Amsterdam looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Law is fending him off so far but Amsterdam persists. Nope, Law circles away and we're back to standing.
Law moves in looking to clinch but Amsterdam pushes him off.
Amsterdam has his takedown stuffed
and Law counters with a head kick. That will keep Amsterdam thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Justin Law has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Amsterdam.

Amsterdam keeps the fight on the outside.
Law dives in for a single leg takedown but Amsterdam sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Amsterdam drops down looking for an ankle pick but Law pulls his leg out and moves away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Law is defended easily by Amsterdam.
Amsterdam takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Law closes the distance and clinches.

Amsterdam turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Amsterdam in side control, throwing shots but Law defends.
Law takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Amsterdam is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Law has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Law is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Amsterdam lands a nice short elbow.
Law avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is just content to waste time from the top position. Law takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Amsterdam won't allow Law to sweep him here.
Amsterdam working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Law's head.
Law can't keep his opponent in guard - Amsterdam advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amsterdam scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Amsterdam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Amsterdam working his ground and pound in the gym.

Amsterdam is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Law blocking the ground and pound attempt from Amsterdam.
Amsterdam is looking to take a break and control but Law is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Amsterdam lands strikes from half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Still in half guard, Amsterdam seems content to control.
Amsterdam lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Law shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Amsterdam counters with a shoot takedown. Law fights it but they end up in guard.
Amsterdam pushing down on Law's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Amsterdam is trying to control. Law wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Amsterdam seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Amsterdam seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Amsterdam looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Amsterdam winds up and cracks Law with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Amsterdam looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Law with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Amsterdam lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amsterdam throws a strike but Law avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Amsterdam throws a big right hand that misses.
Amsterdam postures up.
Amsterdam lands a couple of elbows.
Amsterdam landing with the ground and pound.
Amsterdam throws a big right hand that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Amsterdam connects with a couple of short punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Law being controlled here, momentarily.
Amsterdam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Law works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Robert Amsterdam has got the better of the ground game so far.
Amsterdam in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Law has momentary wrist control but Amsterdam slips an elbow through the middle.
Amsterdam stands up over Law, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Amsterdam works over Law with some ground and pound from guard.
Amsterdam forces his way into half guard.
Amsterdam is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Law!
Amsterdam postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Law looks a forlorn figure.


It looks like Justin Law has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Amsterdam lands a big shot there that rocks Law but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Amsterdam lands with some strikes.


Law is rocked!
Amsterdam lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Oh Law is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Amsterdam putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Amsterdam postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Law badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Amsterdam around the waist but Amsterdam pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Amsterdam is the winner by TKO! Amsterdam jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Amsterdam!
