Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Champ Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Nevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Champ Bombada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Nevsky!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bombada thuds his right hand into Nevsky's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nevsky slips a jab and a cross from Bombada.
Bombada moves out of range of the strikes.
Nevsky takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bombada lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nevsky misses with a lunging right hand
and Bombada counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nevsky throws a lazy uppercut
and Bombada counters with a slapping leg kick.
Nevsky has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nevsky shoots in looking for a takedown. Bombada tries to sprawl out of it but Nevsky keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bombada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nevsky throws a head kick that misses.
Nevsky shoots in looking for a takedown but Bombada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nevsky's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Nevsky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bombada dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nevsky. That did some damage!
Bombada throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nevsky takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nevsky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bombada circles away.
Nevsky has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Nevsky.
Nevsky throws a head kick that misses.
Nevsky fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bombada avoids it really well and circles away.
Bombada thuds his right hand into Nevsky's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bombada keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bombada fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Nevsky misses with an uppercut. Bombada saw that one coming.
Bombada dodges the punch combination from Nevsky.
Bombada moves out of range as Nevsky strikes.
We've been told by Bombada's head coaches at CEC Underdark that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Alexander Nevsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nevsky throws a shot from downtown. Bombada moves away and avoids it.
Nevsky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bombada circles away.

Nevsky throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bombada tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nevsky is in Bombada's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nevsky wants to control from the top but Bombada keeps moving.
Nevsky tries to free his leg and advance position but Bombada is retaining full guard.
Nevsky throwing strikes from guard but Bombada blocks nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nevsky trying to control but Bombada is working from the bottom.
Bombada utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nevsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nevsky in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Nevsky throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nevsky looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Nevsky postures up in Bombada's guard and throws a big left but Bombada blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nevsky is looking to work some ground and pound but Bombada has wrist control.
Nevsky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bombada swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nevsky throws a strike but Bombada rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nevsky is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bombada presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alexander Nevsky will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bombada stuffs the takedown.
Nevsky takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Nevsky throws a hook but Bombada blocks it.
Left hook, right uppercut from Nevsky.
A telegraphed right hand from Nevsky misses the target.
Bombada keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nevsky throws a poor cross that misses
and Bombada cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bombada cracks Nevsky with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nevsky shoots for a double leg takedown but Bombada sprawls well. He's pushed Nevsky's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nevsky is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bombada.
Bombada thuds his right hand into Nevsky's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nevsky thows a leg kick but Bombada checks it
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Champ Bombada is winning the standup battle so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nevsky throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Nice takedown defense from Bombada. No joy for Nevsky on that attempt.
Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Nevsky.
Good leg kick by Bombada there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nice defenses there by Bombada.
A big right from Nevsky misses.
Nevsky takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bombada staying out of range there.
Nevsky throws a right and a left that Bombada avoids nicely.
Bombada turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Nevsky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bombada defends it nicely.
Nevsky is breathing heavily.
Bombada cracks Nevsky with a right hand to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nevsky misses with a right hand
and Bombada cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bombada lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Nevsky is rocked!
Nevsky throws the left hand but Bombada avoids the punch easily.
Bombada is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Nevsky like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Nevsky from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Champ Bombada!
Champ Bombada tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
The defeated Alexander Nevsky had this to say: 'Well ... what can I say ... my opponent was better than me tonight and congratulations for him! But I will come back strong and better prepared next time and put on a show for you guys !!!!'.
