PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison has chosen The Clocks as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison misses with a few strikes there.
Morrison waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Clark.
Some wild striking there from Morrison.
Morrison keeps the fight on the outside.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Clark.
Morrison lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Morrison gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Morrison is trying to control the position but Clark postures up.

Morrison working for a triangle but Clark defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clark stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morrison swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Clark trying to control the position from guard on top but Morrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morrison wants to get back to his feet but Clark passes into half guard.
Clark wants to pass the guard but Morrison is defending well.

Clark is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Morrison doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Clark.

Morrison manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Clark keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Clark turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Clark manages to end up in side control.
Morrison is trying to get back to his feet.
Clark wants to control but Morrison is keeping him busy.
Clark misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Clark has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Morrison!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morrison avoids a series of strikes thrown by Clark.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Morrison is looking to get to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morrison tries to buck Clark off but he can't manage it.

Clark stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Clark gets the takedown into side control.
Clark wants to control but Morrison is keeping him busy.
Clark has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Clark is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Morrison looks calm but he's in trouble here. Clark gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Morrison is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Clark lets go of the hold and Morrison can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John Clark!
Sid Morrison spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm sad to say that this will be my final fight in CONFLICTION. I would like to thank the fans who have supported me throughout all of my fights. It's time to move on to the next chapter in my career.'.
