Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blue Rak!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez ducks under a wild hook from Rak.
Rak walks into a jab.
Mendez cracks Rak with a good jab.
Mendez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mendez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rak tries to score with a low kick but Mendez moves his leg out of the way.
Rak with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Mendez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mendez is trying to push Rak away but Rak has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Mendez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mendez scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Mendez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rak finds it's way round the side to connect with Mendez's head.


George Mendez's cut is getting worse.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mendez throws a hook to the side of Rak's head but Rak sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
No joy there for Rak, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rak takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Mendez connects with a single shot there.
Mendez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rak on the side of the head.
Mendez defending well as Rak loads up on a big left hand.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that George Mendez will probably get the nod.

Blue Rak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendez throws a right hand that misses
and Rak counters with a good, hard body kick but Mendez shrugs it off.
Rak misses with a looping right.
Rak fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mendez checks it well.
Mendez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rak moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rak tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mendez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rak tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mendez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rak tries to land a leg kick but Mendez saw it coming and moves away.

Mendez is looking to break free of the clinch but Rak has double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Mendez's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Rak pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mendez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rak sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mendez looks to land a right hand but Rak moved out of range.

The fighters circling - Mendez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Mendez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rak throws out the jab.
Good leg kick by Rak there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Rak counters with a good low kick that Mendez was not able to check.
Rak fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

enabling Rak to counter with a crisp jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Mendez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Rak counters with a crisp one two that drops Mendez! Rak thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Mendez to his feet! Mendez is in big trouble!

Blue Rak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
