Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Austin Lyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matsui Takamatsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takamatsu has chosen Dogs of War as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Austin Lyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Matsui Takamatsu!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takamatsu throws a combination. Lyle tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Takamatsu throws a chopping leg kick but Lyle manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Takamatsu misses with a straight left.

Takamatsu darts in and clinches Lyle up against the cage.
Takamatsu works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Takamatsu drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lyle gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lyle tries for a takedown but Takamatsu manages to get underhooks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takamatsu prevents the takedown attempt.
Lyle is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Austin Lyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lyle looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Lyle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takamatsu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Takamatsu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lyle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Takamatsu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Takamatsu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lyle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lyle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lyle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takamatsu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Matsui Takamatsu dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Takamatsu looks to land a left hand but Lyle moved out of range nicely.

Takamatsu throws a nice looking combination but Lyle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lyle slips a straight right by Takamatsu.
Matsui Takamatsu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takamatsu lands with an uppercut that bounces Lyle off the cage and back into range.
Lyle avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Takamatsu throws a lazy right hand but Lyle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Takamatsu looks to land a right hand but Lyle moved out of range.
Lyle walks into a straight right hand from Takamatsu.
Takamatsu cracks Lyle with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Takamatsu throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Takamatsu feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lyles jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Lyle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Takamatsu's guard.

Lyle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Takamatsu, who protects the arm well.
Takamatsu wants to control but Lyle postures up.
Matsui Takamatsu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lyle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lyle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Takamatsu is staying active underneath Lyle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lyle wants to advance to full mount but Takamatsu doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Lyle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Takamatsu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lyle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Takamatsu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lyle defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Matsui Takamatsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

We've been informed that Takamatsu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Lyle drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Takamatsu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lyle has Takamatsu in his guard.

Takamatsu decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lyle, up you get!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Takamatsu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Matsui Takamatsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lyle circles away from the clinch attempt.

Takamatsu looks to score with a jab to the body but Lyle is just out of range.

Some bone on bone action there as Lyle checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Takamatsu throws a front kick aimed at Lyle's knee but Lyle avoids it well.
Takamatsu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fighters circle momentarily. Takamatsu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Takamatsu misses with a series of wild punches.
Takamatsu tries to clinch but Lyle moves out of range.
Takamatsu throws the left hand but Lyle avoids the punch easily.
Sloppy strikes from Takamatsu. Those never looked like landing.

Austin Lyle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Matsui Takamatsu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Matsui Takamatsu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Takamatsu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
