Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sassha pecura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort has chosen WESTBAM-Agharta as his entrance music. Vitor Belfort is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
pecura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Belfort's waist but Belfort gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing pecura off to one side.
Belfort tries to bum rush pecura with a series of wild strikes but pecura uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

pecura feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
pecura stands and throws Belfort's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Belfort takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
pecura tries to advance to mount but Belfort denies him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

pecura changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Belfort tries to avoid it but pecura manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Belfort to the ground. Belfort escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
pecura takes a head kick and keeps coming.

It looks like Sassha pecura has been cut.

and Belfort counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Belfort decides to stand up, so the ref orders pecura to his feet.

pecura closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Belfort pushes pecura off and scrambles back to his feet.

You can see the frustration on pecura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Belfort takes a little break here. pecura wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Let's hope that Belfort has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
pecura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Belfort as he jumps to the side.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Belfort lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Belfort manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

pecura wants to control from the top but Belfort keeps moving.
pecura slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Oh but pecura is tightening it up a little... Belfort has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Belfort reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Belfort taps out! nice BJJ there by pecura!
