Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snijder closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Snijder lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mercer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Snijder drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Snijder jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Snijder postures up and lands a big shot to Mercer's brow.
Mercer is trying to control the position but Snijder postures up.
Snijder trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Snijder slips nicely into half guard.
Snijder wants to pass the guard but Mercer is defending well.
Snijder tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mercer controls his leg.
Mercer tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Snijder has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Mercer gets back to half guard.

Mercer pushes Snijder off looking to stand but Snijder dives back in and keeps control.

Snijder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mercer is just riding it out for now. Snijder eventually gives up the hold.

Snijder is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mercer is trying to control but Snijder manages to pass to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mercer tries to lock up and control but Snijder gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Snijder is looking to stand but Snijder has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Mercer is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Snijder working for a guillotine from mount but Mercer is in no mood to give up.

Mercer tries to lock up and control but Snijder gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mercer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Snijder looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Snijder with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mercer wants to control but Snijder is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snijder lands a couple of good shots and Mercer has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mercer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Snijder's half guard.
Mercer wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Snijder uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Mercer is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Snijder has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Mercer is looking to defend but Snijder has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Mercer! Snijder pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Mercer taps out and this one is all over!
