Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janek Kochanowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kochanowski has chosen Sting Of The Bumblebee as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Kochanowski lands with a hook. Shields tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kochanowski dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shields. That did some damage!
Kochanowski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Shields uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kochanowski.
Janek Kochanowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kochanowski looks to land a right hand but Shields moved out of range.
Kochanowski throws a chopping leg kick but Shields manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kochanowski walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Shields checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kochanowski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kochanowski fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shields has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Kochanowski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shields swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kochanowski throws a hook to the side of Shields's head but Shields sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Shields counters with a shoot takedown. Kochanowski fights it but they end up in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shields uses his free foot to push down on Kochanowski's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kochanowski.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shields is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kochanowski to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kochanowski shrugs it off.

Shields is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kochanowski with him. Kochanowski is trying to defend but Shields has an arm under the chin now! Kochanowski grimaces and is forced to tap out!
