PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Noisewater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnett comes into a darkened arena with his song building. "Get Down" by Nas kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Omar Barnett was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenneth Noisewater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omar Barnett!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Noisewater shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barnett's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Barnett wants to improve his position but instead Noisewater has moved into half guard.
Barnett is not content to let Noisewater control the position.
Noisewater trying to pass the guard but Barnett defending well.
Noisewater is looking to take a break and control but Barnett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Noisewater is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Barnett is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kenneth Noisewater has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Barnett looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Barnett tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Noisewater was well out of range. Poor timing from Barnett.

Barnett feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barnett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barnett closes the distance and pushes Noisewater back into the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Noisewater has Barnett pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Noisewater pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Barnett tumbling to the mat - Noisewater dives into Barnett's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Barnett holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kenneth Noisewater.
A looping hook to the body misses from Barnett. Noisewater does a little dance to reset his feet.

Barnett has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Noisewater regains guard immediately.

Barnett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Noisewater's guard.
Noisewater utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Noisewater wants to control the position but Barnett says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Barnett is nestled in close to Noisewater, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kenneth Noisewater has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I would just about give that final round to Omar Barnett.
Well Barnett has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
