PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ross Peerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Musta Barbari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peerson comes into the arena with Good Feeling blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peerson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Barbari shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peerson sprawls well. Peerson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barbari gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Peerson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barbari moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Peerson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Barbari counters with a good, hard body kick but Peerson shrugs it off.

Barbari throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Peerson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Peerson tries to bum rush Barbari with a series of wild strikes but Barbari uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barbari.
Peerson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Barbari on the side of the head.
Peerson slaps away a takedown attempt from Barbari, before circling back to the center of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barbari changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peerson tries to avoid it but Barbari manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peerson to the ground. Peerson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Barbari fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Barbari feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
