Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masaru Shimabukuro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Eduardo Demaestri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shimabukuro might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Warrior. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimabukuro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shimabukuro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shimabukuro connects with a body shot that sends Demaestri's belly button to the back.
Demaestri shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Demaestri shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shimabukuro pinned against the cage. Shimabukuro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Masaru Shimabukuro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julian Eduardo Demaestri.

Masaru Shimabukuro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shimabukuro lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Demaestri tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shimabukuro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Demaestri somewhat.
Demaestri takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Shimabukuro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Demaestri misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Demaestri dives in for a single leg takedown but Shimabukuro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Demaestri changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Shimabukuro fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Shimabukuro throws a right hand that Demaestri ducks under and follows up with a left that Demaestri also avoids with ease.

Shimabukuro scores with a head kick. Demaestri tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Demaestri shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shimabukuro as he avoids it easily.
Shimabukuro fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Demaestri has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Demaestri will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shimabukuro delivers a nice body kick.
Shimabukuro lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Shimabukuro lands a nice shot to the body.
Demaestri sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Demaestri takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shimabukuro lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Shimabukuro.
Demaestri fails to land the takedown.
