The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Berzins. That snapped Thompson 's head back.
We've been hearing reports that Thompson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Berzins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Berzins wants to slow Thompson down by chopping away at his legs.

Thompson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Berzins walks away with a smile on his face. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Thompson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Berzins counters with a thumping low kick.

Thompson closes the distance and clinches up with Berzins, looking for a takedown. Thompson pushes Berzins against the cage but Berzins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown. Berzins tries to sprawl out of it but Thompson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Berzins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That kick from Berzins tenderised Thompson 's leg. Thompson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Berzins dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thompson . That did some damage!
Berzins cracks a nice hook into Thompson 's ribs.

Berzins lands a big head kick that sends Thompson tumbling to the mat! Berzins takes a step backwards and waves Thompson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Thompson is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Berzins fakes the leg kick and cracks Thompson in the body.
Oh Thompson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Thompson . He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Thompson is breathing heavily.
Thompson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Berzins tries to avoid it but Thompson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Berzins to the ground. Berzins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Thompson shoots in but Berzins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Berzins moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Berzins stuffs the takedown.
Berzins lands with a nice body punch.
A head kick by Berzins - that's a beauty! Thompson is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Berzins can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
