Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Tripp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Goku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tripp comes into the arena with House of the Rising Sun by The Animals blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goku swinging wildly here.
Goku throws a series of punches but Tripp avoids them all with ease.
Goku displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tripp throws out the jab.

Goku's coach down at Extreme MMA (5 Elites $250/week) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Goku's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Goku will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Goku looks to land a combination but Tripp avoids it well.
Tripp takes the fight into the clinch.

Tripp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Tripp counters with a crisp one two that drops Goku! Tripp thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Goku to his feet! Goku is in big trouble!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tripp bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fred Goku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Tripp darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Fred Goku has been cut.
Goku changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tripp tries to avoid it but Goku manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tripp to the ground. Tripp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Goku misses with a few strikes there.

and Tripp connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tripp darts in looking for a takedown but Goku gets double underhooks and turns Tripp into the cage.

Goku has had enough of the clinch but Tripp keeps him there for the moment.

Goku tries to bum rush Tripp with a series of wild strikes but Tripp uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Goku throws a hook to the side of Tripp's head but Tripp sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tripp wants to stand but Goku has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tripp passes Goku's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tripp tries to pass the half guard into mount. Goku knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tripp is pressing down on Goku's thigh, looking to free his foot. Goku is holding on for now.

Goku looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tripp is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Goku tries to kick Tripp off but Tripp keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tripp wants to free his trapped foot but Goku is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Goku wants to get back to his feet.
Tripp wants to control but Goku is keeping him busy.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tripp tries to stand and escape but Goku is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Goku can do anything to dispel that myth.

Oooooh!!! Tripp has knocked Goku down with a huge combo! Tripp steps away and waves a wobbly Goku back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

That has opened up Fred Goku's cut even more.

Goku throws the left hand but Tripp avoids the punch easily.

Tripp lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Goku misses with a lunging right hand
and Tripp counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Goku badly! He tries to strike back but Tripp puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Goku out cold! Oh man, Goku will never hear the end of this one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jackson Tripp!
