Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reina Manuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yury Ignashevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manuel really is a fat lump.
Manuel slaps away a takedown attempt from Ignashevich, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ignashevich looks to land a combination but Manuel avoids it well.

Ignashevich has taken the fight to the clinch.

Manuel pulls guard effortlessly.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ignashevich lands a couple of decent looking shots.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ignashevich accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ignashevich is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ignashevich throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Manuel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ignashevich drops back, looking for a kneebar! Manuel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Manuel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Manuel!
Ignashevich is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Manuel is breathing heavily.

Manuel is looking to take a break and control but Ignashevich is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Manuel decides to stand up.
Ignashevich misses with a few strikes there.

Manuel gets caught flat footed, as Ignashevich shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Ignashevich stands up over Manuel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Ignashevich drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Manuel dives on top into guard.
Ignashevich pulls Manuel in close to his closed guard and prevents Manuel from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ignashevich is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Manuel is controlling him.

Ignashevich is wriggling around but Manuel manages to pass to half guard.
Manuel is keen to just control but Ignashevich is a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ignashevich can do anything to dispel that myth.
Manuel prevents Ignashevich from improving his position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Reina Manuel.
Ignashevich looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Manuel is fending him off so far but Ignashevich persists. Nope, Manuel circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ignashevich stands up.

Manuel slaps away a takedown attempt from Ignashevich, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ignashevich has a takedown stuffed.
Ignashevich falls off balance throwing a combination
and Manuel counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ignashevich is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ignashevich shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Manuel pinned against the cage. Manuel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reina Manuel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yury Ignashevich.
Ignashevich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ignashevich is breathing heavily.
Manuel shoots in and drives through. Ignashevich sprawls well.
Ignashevich pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Manuel back to the cage. Ignashevich follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Manuel throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Manuel lands with a kick to the temple. Ignashevich shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Manuel throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Manuel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ignashevich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Manuel somewhat.
Ignashevich dives in for a single leg takedown but Manuel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ignashevich jumps guard and drags Manuel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Ignashevich is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Manuel dives into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ignashevich is desperately trying to improve his position but Manuel has a good base and remains in mount.

Ignashevich is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yury Ignashevich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Manuel is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ignashevich.
Manuel tries to clinch up but Ignashevich circles away and keeps his distance.
Manuel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ignashevich.
Ignashevich fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ignashevich jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Manuel walks away with a smile on his face. Ignashevich gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Yury Ignashevich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ignashevich dives in for a single leg takedown but Manuel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Manuel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ignashevich fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Manuel feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ignashevich's calf.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Yury Ignashevich is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A very excited looking Yury Ignashevich rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
