PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burke comes to the cage accompanied by Manish Boy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, James Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh throws a hook but Burke blocks it.
Marsh walks forward, straight into a front kick from Burke.
Burke throws a head kick but Marsh moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Burke.
Burke fails with an attempt to clinch.
A big right from Burke misses.
Burke lands with a kick to the ribs.
Marsh lunges at Burke with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Burke's hand.
Burke closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marsh circles away.
Burke thumps Marsh with a low kick.
Marsh looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Marsh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Burke manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Burke can't keep his opponent in guard - Marsh advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Marsh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A nice leg kick lands there from Burke.
Burke connects with a leg kick. Marsh looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Marsh throws the left hand but Burke avoids the punch easily.

Burke moves in looking to clinch but Marsh pushes him off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Marsh shoots in for a takedown but Burke shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

No luck for Marsh with that takedown attempt.
Burke walks into a stiff left hand from Marsh.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Burke.
I think Burke has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
