Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Lidle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Mcknight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcknight tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Lidle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mcknight is trying to control the position but Lidle postures up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lidle's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lidle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lidle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lidle is looking to pass into half guard but Mcknight pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Mcknight is in guard.
Lidle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mcknight drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcknight jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lidle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lidle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lidle tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mcknight tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Mcknight lands a big shot there that rocks Lidle but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Mcknight can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lidle is looking to escape.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mcknight dives in for a single leg takedown but Lidle sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lidle prevents a takedown attempt there.

Lidle gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mcknight regains full guard. Nicely done.
Mcknight is trying to control the position but Lidle postures up.
Lidle lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lidle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lidle looking to sit in guard and control but Mcknight gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mcknight sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lidle's guard.
Joe Mcknight has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lidle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcknight is working away from the top position though.

Mcknight maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lidle could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mcknight has cracked it and Lidle is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mcknight!
