PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Clow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Mark Kerr enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Clow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Kerr!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clow has a takedown stuffed.
Clow shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kerr but Kerr pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kerr drives through and clinches with Clow against the cage.
Kerr has Clow pressed against the cage, preventing Clow from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Clow has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kerr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Clow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Clow makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Clow tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kerr just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kerr is struggling to control the position.
Clow is trying to pull guard but Kerr has him pressed against the cage.
Clow tries to pull guard but Kerr forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kerr is pushing Clow up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerr lands a right hand that snaps the head of Clow backwards.

Kerr breaks from the clinch.
Clow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kerr is fending him off so far but Clow persists. Nope, Kerr circles away and we're back to standing.
Clow looks to clinch

and Kerr counters by moving into the clinch.
Kerr lands with a left to the head.

Kerr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kerr has taken the fight to the clinch.
Clow looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Kerr lands a nice uppercut.
Kerr pressing his opponent against the cage.
Kerr gets underhooks to prevent Clow's takedown attempt.
Kerr is stalling here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kerr breaks the clinch.
Clow shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kerr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Clow.
Kerr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Clow misses with a takedown attempt - Kerr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Clow is breathing heavily.

Kerr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Clow wants a takedown.

Kerr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clow fails with a takedown attempt.

Kerr gets a clinch.

Kerr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kerr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Clow tries to break free but Kerr pushes him back against the cage.
Kerr lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Kerr lands with a light punch inside.
Kerr presses Clow against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Kerr can't find room to land a body shot as Clow controls the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kerr throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Clows head.
Kerr throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Kerr has Clow pressed against the cage, preventing Clow from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Kerr manages to break the clinch.
Kerr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Clow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Clow misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Clow shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kerr as he jumps to the side.
Clow closes the distance and clinches up with Kerr, looking for a takedown. Clow pushes Kerr against the cage but Kerr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kerr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chris Clow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Kerr dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Clow with a poor takedown

and Kerr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kerr gets through Clow's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Clow missing with knees to the body.
Kerr digs a right hand into Clow's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Clow's gas tank.
Kerr lands an uppercut.
Kerr has Clow pressed against the cage.
Kerr lands with a short punch from the clinch.


Clow is rocked!
Clow takes a shot to the head.
Oh Clow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kerr unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Clow! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Kerr is unloading with more strikes now! Clow drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Kerr!
The defeated Chris Clow had this to say: 'sorry to all my fans.'.
