Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Cooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Boyette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent Boyette has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Cooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trent Boyette!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooks dives in and grabs Boyette's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boyette pushes down on Cooks's head and hops out.
Cooks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Cooks shoots for a takedown but Boyette saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boyette looks to land a combination but Cooks avoids it well.
Boyette scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Cooks closes the distance and clinches.

Cooks jumps into guard, dragging Boyette to the mat.
Boyette is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Boyette stands up and waves to Cooks to follow him.
Boyette stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boyette wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Cooks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boyette wants to clinch up but Cooks keeps it at a distance.
Boyette lands a head kick. Cooks smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Cooks is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cooks crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Boyette - the referee stops the clock and Cooks gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Boyette. Cooks manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Oh Cooks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cooks is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cooks or perhaps it was just good defense by Boyette, which made it look bad.
Cooks drops his hands for a split second and Boyette immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Cooks face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Boyette follows up with a right hand that knocks Cooks into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Trent Boyette!
