Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Donte Lott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Weidman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Weidman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Lott's corner calls for a 1-2. Lott obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Lott misses with a head kick.

Lott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Weidman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lott uses it to pass to side control.

Weidman looks to move to half guard but instead Lott has passed into mount! Damn!

Weidman wants to take a breather but Lott is having none of it.
Weidman uses his free foot to push down on Lott's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lott.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Weidman is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Lott has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Lott!
Lott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Weidman on the ground.

Lott feints and as Weidman raises his hands in defense, Lott changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Weidman is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lott has his hands clasped together but Weidman extends and breaks Lott's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Weidman.
