Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Master Yi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yi comes to the cage accompanied by Master Yi - By Riot. Schultz has chosen As The Crow Flies - Newsted as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Master Yi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Schultz!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Schultz scores with a kick to the midsection.
Yi tried to score with a low kick but Schultz checks it.
Yi throws a body punch but Schultz moves out of range.
Yi throws a leg kick but Schultz sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Yi throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Schultz throws a sloppy body shot
and Yi counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Yi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schultz keeps working.
Schultz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The strikes coming from Yi are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Yi trying to control the action but Schultz is working from the bottom.
Yi tries to score with some ground and pound. Schultz controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Schultz tries to get to full guard but Yi has control of the leg.
Yi tries to pass to full mount but Schultz defends it.
Yi is trying to control the action in half guard but Schultz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Yi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Yi throwing shots but Schultz is blocking nicely.
Yi is taking a breather. Schultz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Schultz is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schultz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Schultz is trying to get back to full guard.
Yi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schultz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Master Yi just wasn't active enough.
Yi throws a leg kick
and Schultz counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schultz gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Schultz tries a low kick but Yi avoids it.
Schultz connects with a nice looking jab.
Yi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Schultz lands a leg kick that knocks Yi off balance momentarily.
Schultz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Yi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Schultz misses with a head kick.

Yi throws a nice outside leg kick.
Schultz blocks a jab.
A slow jab from Yi misses its intended target.
Schultz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yi. That did some damage!
Yi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A lazy body kick from Schultz
and Yi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Schultz is doing well to control the position and prevent Yi from advancing to side control.
Schultz is looking to control Yi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Schultz avoid being mounted?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schultz is trying to get back to full guard.

Yi wants to take a breather but Schultz is having none of it.
Yi is working for a kimura but Schultz is defending it quite comfortably.
Yi sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Schultz defending well though.
Schultz is positioning himself well to prevent Yi advancing to mount.
Yi tries to pass to full mount but Schultz defends it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Yi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Schultz wants to control but Yi is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Master Yi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Donk. Yi catches Schultz right on the button with a cross.
Yi lands a right hook to the body.
Yi moves in looking to clinch but Schultz pushes him off.
Yi tries to clinch but Schultz moves out of range.
Yi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Schultz's hands.
Yi throws a lazy right hand but Schultz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Schultz moves out of range as Yi throws a body kick.
Yi throws a leg kick but Schultz sees it coming and checks it nicely.
An inside leg kick lands from Schultz.
A punch lands to the side of Yi 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Schultz connects with a single shot there.
Yi tries to clinch but Schultz moves out of range.
Schultz ducks under a wild hook from Yi.
Schultz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yi.
Yi misses with a wild body shot.
Yi misses with a straight right.
Schultz scores with a spinning back kick!
Schultz fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Yi checks it well.
Yi swings widly with a right hand
and Schultz counters with a straight right hand.
Yi is rocked!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Schultz fakes the body blow, causing Yi to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Yi goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
