Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter James!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Patton!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patton doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
James misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Patton.
James misses with a wild body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Patton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
James getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like George Patton has been cut.
Patton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
James throws the left hand but Patton avoids the punch easily.
Patton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
James lands the left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Patton slips under a jab from James.

James lands a big right hand that sends Patton crashing to the mat! James stays standing though and waves Patton back to his feet!
James throws a body shot but no joy.
James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Patton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patton manages to avoid it.
James throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patton moves out of range of the strikes.
James keeps the fight on the outside.
James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Patton checks a low kick from James.
Patton wants to clinch.
James misses with a hook
and Patton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps James thinking.
Patton drops his hands momentarily and James takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Patton is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.

Patton moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.
James throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Patton sees it coming and avoids it easily.
James lands with a cross.


That has opened up George Patton's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Patton takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
James cracks Patton on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Patton falls backwards against the cage. James follows up with more strikes that drop Patton to his knees. James keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Patton! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter James!
