PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abe Lincon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Riccuito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Riccuito told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lincon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Riccuito stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Riccuito throws a solid leg kick but Lincon takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Riccuito.
Lincon motions for Riccuito to come forward. Lincon throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Riccuito defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lincon.
Lincon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Riccuito checks a low kick from Lincon.
Riccuito misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lincon chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Riccuito can pounce on him.
Lincon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Riccuito doesn't manage to clinch there - Lincon circles away.
Riccuito has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lincon finds it's way round the side to connect with Riccuito's head.

Riccuito is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Riccuito unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lincon lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Lincon tries to circle away but Riccuito has him pinned against the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that Abe Lincon will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Riccuito scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Riccuito fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lincon has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Riccuito tries to land a front kick but Lincon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
