Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Geraldo Bowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joonas Ojala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Geraldo Bowen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joonas Ojala!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ojala tries to clinch
and Bowen counters with a two punch combo.
Bowen circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Bowen counter with a right hand.

Ojala closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ojala seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Bowen wants to control but Ojala is keeping busy.
Bowen is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Bowen holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ojala sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bowen defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ojala is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bowen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ojala perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bowen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ojala is looking to take a break and control but Bowen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bowen tries to get to full guard but Ojala has control of the leg.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ojala tries to clinch up
and Bowen counters with a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bowen is looking to clinch but Ojala is avoiding it.
Ojala steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Bowen is out on his feet! Ojala sets himself and nearly takes Bowen's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joonas Ojala!
