Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clyde Blankenship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clyde Blankenship!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Parker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Parker with a flurry of punches that miss.
Blankenship preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Blankenship wants to stand but Parker is controlling the position.
Parker wants to pass the guard but Blankenship is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Parker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Parker throws a combination that misses

and Blankenship counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Blankenship.

Blankenship pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Blankenship blocks a head kick by Parker.
Parker throws a head kick that misses.
Blankenship shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parker but Parker pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Parker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Parker showed some decent athleticism there.
Parker controlling the action here.
Blankenship is looking to improve his position.
Parker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Blankenship might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kyle Parker wasn't active enough on the ground.

Parker passes to full mount!
Parker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Parker jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Blankenship manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blankenship is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Parker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Blankenship to his feet.
Blankenship fails to land the takedown.

Parker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blankenship's guard.
Parker passes Blankenship's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Blankenship has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Parker is working away from the top position though.
Blankenship keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Blankenship is trying to control but can't.
Parker stalling.
Parker uses his free foot to push down on Blankenship's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Blankenship.
Parker thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Blankenship could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Blankenship keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Parker is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Blankenship can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parker thowing shots but they're missing.

Parker stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Parker scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Blankenship won't allow Parker to pass to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blankenship keeping hold of Parker's head, controlling as best he can.
Parker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Blankenship looks for a takedown but Parker sprawls well.

Parker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Parker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Parker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Parker decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
No luck for Blankenship with that takedown attempt.
Parker closes the distance but Blankenship moves to the side
and Blankenship makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Parker really felt that one!

Parker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Parker is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Blankenship has hold of Parker's hands but Parker slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Blankenship knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parker on the ground.

Parker gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
The fight stays on the outside here - Parker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Parker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Blankenship.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clyde Blankenship. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker misses with a head kick.

Blankenship circles away from the clinch attempt.

Parker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Parker controlling the action here.

Blankenship blocking the ground and pound attempt from Parker.
Parker trying to pass the guard but Blankenship defending well.
Parker is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kyle Parker has got the better of the ground game so far.

Let's hope that Parker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kyle Parker was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Parker looks to clinch
and Blankenship counters with a good, hard body kick but Parker shrugs it off.
Parker moves in looking to clinch but Blankenship pushes him off.
Parker closes the distance but Blankenship moves to the side
and Blankenship counters with a body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Blankenship enables Parker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blankenship manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Parker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Parker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Blankenship counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Parker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Parker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Parker creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Blankenship sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Parker tries to score with some ground and pound. Blankenship controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Parker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blankenship keeps working.

Parker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Parker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Blankenship can't do much from the bottom here.
Blankenship is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parker has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Parker throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Blankenship because Parker loaded up on that one.
Blankenship blocking the ground and pound.
Parker controlling his opponent.

Parker looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Parker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blankenship tries to improve his position but instead Parker has taken his back!

Parker working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Blankenship is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Parker has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Blankenship taps out!
