Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Weller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolo Avecilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Weller is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Weller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nicolo Avecilla!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weller doesn't manage to clinch there - Avecilla circles away.

Weller shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Avecilla manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Weller is looking to work some ground and pound but Avecilla has wrist control.
Avecilla keeping moving, preventing Weller from controlling successfully.

Weller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Avecilla, up you get!

Weller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Avecilla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Avecilla is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Avecilla told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Avecilla throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wellers head.

Weller looking to stall.
Weller wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Avecilla works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Weller jumps guard but Avecilla turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Avecilla connects with a nasty looking knee right to Weller's face.

Avecilla gets through Weller's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Weller jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Avecilla walks away with a smile on his face. Weller gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Joe Weller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Avecilla darts in and clinches Weller up against the ropes.

Avecilla moves into range and clinches up with Weller.
Weller fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Nicolo Avecilla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Avecilla throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Avecilla lets loose with a powerful body kick. Weller will feel that in the morning.
Avecilla buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Weller goes for a double leg but Avecilla avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Avecilla continues to drive forward.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Avecilla.
Avecilla throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wellers head.
Weller is trying to drag Avecilla to the mat but Avecilla just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Weller takes an elbow to the temple.


Weller is rocked!

Avecilla's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Avecilla keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Avecilla has Weller up against the ropes in a clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Avecilla lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Oh Weller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Weller's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Avecilla lands a knee to the body.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Avecilla.
Avecilla has Weller pressed against the ropes. He pushes Weller back and as he springs towards him off the ropes, Avecilla throws a beautiful elbow that sends Weller crashing to the floor! Avecilla piles on the pressure with more strikes! Weller is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicolo Avecilla!
