The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Pillow shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alexander's guard.

Alexander lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Pillow manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Alexander ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alexander no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Pillow slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pillow has hold of Alexander's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Alexander tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pillow cranks the arm and Alexander screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Alexander, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Green Pillow!
Green Pillow decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
