The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eaton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kurniawan has Eaton up against the cage in a clinch.
Kurniawan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Eaton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A left and a right from Eaton both land. Nice combination.
Kurniawan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Eaton takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Kurniawan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Eaton's half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Eaton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kurniawan is working away from the top position though.

Eaton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kurniawan was well out of range. Poor timing from Eaton.

Kurniawan gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Eaton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Eaton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kurniawan tries to roll over but Eaton keeps him under control.

Eaton is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Kurniawan still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Kurniawan has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
