Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Unit One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Owen William!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Unit One!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. William defends it nicely.
William really is a fat lump.
One shoots in for a takedown but William shows good takedown defense.

One shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. William is trying to defend but One finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
One is looking to advance position but William won't allow it.
One seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but William does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
William is trying to get back to full guard.
One tries to pass the half guard into mount. William knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
William is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
William might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
William gets back to full guard.
One seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
William controlling the position.
One won't allow William to sweep him here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Unit One hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

One moves into the clinch successfully.
One is working for takedown but William is calmly controlling the position for now.
Owen William has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unit One.
One tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
One drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
William has One pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. One manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
One has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

One's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
One misses with a takedown
and William counters with a good low kick that One was not able to check.

One forces William back against the cage and clinches.

One breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
One closes the distance and clinches up with William, looking for a takedown. One pushes William against the cage but William circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

William rushes One and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

One's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
One goes for a double leg but William avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as William continues to drive forward.
One has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. William is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
One jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as William walks away with a smile on his face. One gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
One looks winded!
One misses with a two punch combination.

One closes the distance and pushes William back into the cage.
One jumps guard but William stands there with One around his waist. One gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
William has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. One avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
One tries to break the clinch but William is controlling the position.
One tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
William wants a takedown but no success here.
William jumps guard but One turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
William drops down looking for an ankle pick but One pulls his leg out and moves away.
One misses with a takedown attempt
and William counters with an outside leg kick.
One fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but William avoids it really well and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
One shoots and misses
and William counters with a nice low kick that buckles One's knee momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

One forces William back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Unit One dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

One is trying to control William's posture but William avoids it.
William is putting a hurting on One here, landing some big shots from side control.

William cracks One with a big right hand but One just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

One takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

One tries to buck William off but William is having none of it.

William tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

William lands a decent elbow from side control.
Check out the look on William's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
William throwing strikes but One manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
William wants to control but One postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

One decides to stand back up.
William leaves One with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
One is breathing heavily.
A jab lands there for One.
One shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and William cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

One clinches.
One wants a takedown but no success here.
Owen William has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unit One.
One is trying to drag William to the mat but William just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A head punch on the inside from One fails to land.
One using the Thai plumb to throw knees but William has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
One tries to pull guard but William won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
William drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
William working hard to break the clinch.
One is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

William gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
One is holding on to half guard well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
William prevents One from improving his position.
William scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen William dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


One dives in and grabs William's left leg, looking for a takedown. William pushes down on One's head and hops out.
One looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
One fails with the takedown.
Owen William has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unit One.
One shoots and misses
and William counters with a right hand to the body.
William shoots in but One avoids the takedown attempt easily.
William is looking to score with low kicks.
One takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
One throws a head kick that misses.
William walks forward, straight into a front kick from One.

That's one minute gone in the round.
William throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around One's waist but One gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing William off to one side.

William throws a leg kick but One moved away.
One has his takedown stuffed
and William counters with a nice leg kick.

William rushes One and presses him up against the cage.
William prevents the takedown attempt.
William has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. One is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

William gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
William working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

One is looking for a triangle but William pushes his legs off easily.
William loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

One wants to improve his position but instead William has moved into half guard.

William working over One with some ground and pound. One looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
One has hold of William's hands but William slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
William thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
William drops an elbow to the side of One's head.
One is trying to defend against the ground and pound but William scores with a couple of nice shots.
William looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

William looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
William is nestled in close to One, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
William lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
William has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
