Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Serget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston Churchall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Serget comes to the cage accompanied by Friends in lower places. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Serget!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Winston Churchall!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Churchall drives through with a takedown into Serget's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Churchall tries to free his leg and advance position but Serget is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Serget manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Churchall slips nicely into half guard.

Churchall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Serget is just riding it out for now. Churchall eventually gives up the hold.

Churchall is keen to just control but Serget is a slippery customer.

Churchall wants to control but Serget is keeping him busy.

Churchall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Serget doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Churchall.

Churchall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Serget makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Churchall with a poor takedown

and Serget counters with a shoot takedown. Churchall fights it but they end up in guard.

Serget got a little sloppy there for a moment and Churchall has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Serget has managed to get both his arms back between Churchall's legs - danger averted.

Churchall postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Serget is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Churchall, into his guard.

Churchall felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

and Serget moves into the clinch.

Serget turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Serget manages to end up in side control.

Serget is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Churchall's shoulder. That is not cool.

Churchall gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Churchall shoots and misses

so Serget counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Churchall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Serget defends it easily.
